Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Per Diem Health Services Dietary Aide to join our dining services team. This position provides flexible support to our Health Services Dining Department by assisting with meal service, maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment, and ensuring residents receive meals that meet their individual dietary needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, provides excellent customer service, and takes pride in creating a safe, respectful, and positive dining experience for residents and guests. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly and attentive service to residents and guests in the health care dining room. Assist residents with menu selections and accurately take meal orders. Serve meals according to resident preferences, dietary requirements, and established service standards. Ensure therapeutic diets, allergies, portion sizes, and special dietary needs are followed accurately. Prepare dining areas for meal service, including table setup, sanitation, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Assemble, check, and deliver resident meal trays accurately and on time. Assist with food preparation tasks, including garnishing, condiment preparation, and meal setup. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining rooms, kitchen areas, equipment, carts, dishes, and supplies. Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and privacy policies. Support special events and holidays as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Supervisor. Qualifications & Skills Ability to read, write, and understand English. Previous food service, healthcare dining, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Strong commitment to providing respectful and compassionate service to residents. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and team members. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow dietary instructions accurately. Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible availability to support department needs, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift and lift/carry trays or supplies up to 25 pounds.
