Job Description

Established in 1912, the Jewish Home of CNY evolved from a small rooming house in downtown Syracuse to become the 36-acre campus in DeWitt known as Menorah Park. If you're looking to be a part of a friendly team that delivers quality care in a safe, quiet, neighborhood setting, Menorah Park might the right place for you. This food service position is part-time and will be required to work two weekends on and one weekend off. Where scheduling allows, you may work every other weekend. The pay rate is between $17.50 - $18.00 per hour. Hours vary between 7am and 7pm. Some nights you may be required to stay until 8pm the latest.

Clearing tables, washing dishes, and cleaning tables on various resident care floors. Transports hot and cold foods to and from the main kitchen to the resident care areas Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries and resident care areas Washes silver, glass, china in dish machine in main kitchen as per regulation Provides floor stock, snacks and supplements per diet orders Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms Maintains work stations in clean, organized, and in proper order Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service Answers pertinent questions about menu items Ensures that meal tray accurately matches the meal ticket Maintains kosher regulations and requirements as per policy Qualifications Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.
