Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care and support to our residents. This energetic position involves assisting with meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring that dietary needs are met with precision and compassion. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, safe, and nourishing environment for our residents, especially those in assisted living or nursing home settings. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your culinary skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and individual resident requirements Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals Support the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food storage spaces in compliance with food safety standards such as JCAHO regulations Handle food safely using proper food handling techniques and adhere to workplace safety protocols including PPE use and safe lifting practices Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and maintaining a tidy dining environment to promote hygiene and efficiency Support the dietary department by managing inventory, restocking supplies, and documenting food temperatures and sanitation checks Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service while adhering to dietary restrictions and nutritional plans for residents Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation practices aligned with food safety standards (e.g., JCAHO) Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Strong time management skills to handle meal schedules and multiple tasks effectively Experience working with geriatric patients or in healthcare environments is advantageous Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach towards residents' needs Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and stand for extended periods Certifications such as CPR or Food Handler's Permit are a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided on-site Join us in creating a caring atmosphere where nutrition meets compassion!
