Non-Exempt Position Title:
Kitchen Aide Monastery•Part Time Infirmary Reports to:
Director of Monastery Primary Function :
Under the supervision of the Director of the Monastery Infirmary and in accordance with the established policies and procedure of the Saint Vincent food service, prepares meals for the members of the Saint Vincent community who take their meals in the infirmary dining room.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma required. Training or education and food service preferred.
Experience:
Some prior work and kitchen assistance preferred but not required.
Essential Duties:
1. Keeps the kitchen and the dining room clean and in good order. 2. Presents food with your appropriate utensils and at the proper temperature. 3. Resets tables and regularly changes tablecloth. 4. Responds promptly and courteously to special request of the monks. 5. Prepares trays according to nursing specifications for those who are room bound. 6. Maintain stock and inventory of the kitchen supplies. 7. Makes available beverages, fruit, and small snack, items for the nutritional needs of the monks. 8. Reports any hazards to patients or staff and makes recommendations for improvements of the service in the physical space. 9. Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with residence, visitors, and staff while assuring confidentiality. 10. Reports any changes observed and conditions or behaviors of patients and any unusual behavior.
Other duties:
1. Practices careful and efficient use of supplies and materials. 2. Participates in orientation of new employees. 3. Adapts to changing unit needs by organizing priorities. 4. Attends and participates in unit meetings and job-related educational pro programs.
