Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Double Weekend Dietary Aide & Dietary Cook, where your energy and culinary skills will directly enhance the well-being of our residents. This vital role combines food preparation, service, and sanitation duties to ensure a safe, nutritious, and enjoyable dining experience for residents in an assisted living or nursing home environment. You will work primarily on weekends, providing essential support to our dietary department while adhering to strict safety and food handling standards. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements, following established recipes and safety protocols Assist with food production tasks such as chopping, portioning, plating, and assembling meals efficiently and accurately Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and refrigeration units Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas in compliance with food safety standards and JCAHO regulations Support with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste and ensure freshness Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring a welcoming environment for residents during meal times Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or supplies to prevent injury and promote workplace safety Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation procedures, and dietary requirements for geriatric patients Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy meal service periods Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety standards Familiarity with manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices for heavy loads Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and support resident needs Basic math skills for portion control, inventory counts, and meal planning CPR certification and knowledge of workplace safety protocols are preferred but not required Join us in creating a positive dining experience that promotes health, happiness, and comfort for our residents.
