In this energetic position, you will assist in meal service, food preparation, and maintaining a clean, safe environment that adheres to all food safety and sanitation standards. Your compassionate approach and teamwork will ensure residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals in a warm and welcoming setting. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your culinary skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to specific dietary requirements for residents. Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals in accordance with safety standards. Support the dietary team by cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas to maintain sanitation and safety protocols. Help with food handling and storage, following proper procedures for manual handling and safe lifting practices. Provide excellent customer service by assisting residents during meal times, addressing special needs, and ensuring a positive dining experience. Follow workplace safety policies including PPE use, sanitation procedures, and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards. Support with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring a hygienic environment for all residents and staff. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or food industry settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, food safety practices, and sanitation standards. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively during busy meal periods. Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is advantageous. Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management. Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents' needs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely. Certification in CPR is preferred; knowledge of dietary requirements and nutrition is a plus.
