This role will be full-time and will provide assistance in the service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff, as well as various processes related to the preparation and delivery of meals. This is a fulltime position.

Essential Functions:

Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets, according to the planned menu and as directed. Handles food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures. Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation equipment and ensures that it is kept in safe and operable condition. Completes general cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of work area. Assists with keeping Dietary department stocked with essential patient food items. Operates dish machine according to established procedures. Maintains records regarding patient diet information. Utilizes concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.

Minimum Job Requirements Minimum Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred . 1 year experience in healthcare food services preferred . Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or

Documentation:

Food Handler's permit required . Must maintain acceptable driving record, current driver's license, and insurability.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of patient diets and safe food handling requirements and use of Nutritional Care Manual. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Demonstrates proficiency with general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management. Physical Requirements Over the Course of a

Shift:

A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling often for prolonged periods. Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear overhead page.
