SUMMARY The Dietary Aide position will serve as a liaison between the Independent Living residents and the Dietary department. Updating Likes and Dislikes and ensuring that resident satisfaction is their number one priority. They are responsible for delivering breakfast and lunch as well as collecting empty meal trays, and ensuring mail is distributed at least once a shift to the Independent Living residents. They will also work in the kitchen doing dishes, helping with prep, and cleaning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver breakfast and lunch to the Independent Living residents. Pick up the Independent Living residents' empty meal containers and take them to the kitchen in a timely manner for the next meal. Collect any trash the Independent Living residents have put out and take it to the dumpster. Deliver mail at least once a shift to the Independent Living residents. Assist in serving, sanitizing, washing dishes, and food prep as needed. Gather resident dietary preferences and ensure that they are up to date with the cooks. Protect the confidentiality of resident information and other facility data. Interact in a positive manner with residents, family members, visitors, and other employees. Meet or exceed community standards for resident rights, dress code, sanitation, health, and safety. Report to work on a consistent and reliable basis according to assigned schedule. Attend required meetings and training sessions. Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

High school graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) At least four years of cooking experience, preferably in a supported-living or medical facility; including at least one year of managerial responsibility Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language; and can communicate effectively with residents; bilingual language skills are a plus Oral and written communication skills with positive interpersonal aptitude Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety procedures, and fire evacuation
