Duties Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to dietary guidelines and safety standards Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and a friendly attitude Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including countertops, utensils, and equipment Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to proper handling procedures Support dietary staff with food handling, bussing tables, and cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment Follow all workplace safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately during tasks Manage manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or food items using safe lifting practices Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of food production, preparation, and sanitation standards (including JCAHO regulations) Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and understanding basic math for portioning and measurements Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is a plus Strong time management skills to handle meal schedules efficiently Ability to adhere to dietary requirements and food safety protocols consistently Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures CPR certification or willingness to obtain it is preferred; must be comfortable heavy lifting and manual handling tasks Join us in creating nourishing meals that enhance the well-being of our residents while enjoying a supportive environment that values your skills and dedication.
