Job Summary Join our dynamic dietary team as a Dietary Aide on a split shift schedule, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact the well-being of our residents. In this vital role, you will assist in meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your efforts will ensure that residents receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs while fostering a positive dining experience. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work in a supportive setting that values teamwork, safety, and exceptional care. Duties Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards, ensuring adherence to nutrition guidelines. Assist with food production and meal assembly, including portioning, plating, and presentation to enhance resident satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food handling surfaces following strict food safety protocols. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and serving utensils, while following proper manual handling practices. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and managing waste to uphold sanitation standards. Follow all workplace safety procedures and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to accommodate special dietary needs and assist with resident requests. Skills Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable; experience in the food industry or culinary fields is beneficial. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards (including JCAHO compliance), and sanitation practices. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during split shifts. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to safe lifting practices for heavy loads. Familiarity with working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary requirements. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portion sizes accurately. Exceptional customer service skills to create a positive dining experience for residents and staff alike. Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to senior populations and dietary guidelines.
