Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring adherence to specific dietary needs and restrictions Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety protocols and JCAHO standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation and service Support the dietary department with inventory management, food handling, and storage procedures Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or supplies, utilizing manual handling techniques Provide excellent customer service by attending to residents' needs with kindness and professionalism Skills Previous assisted living or nursing home experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and presentation techniques Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric patients or those in healthcare settings Experience working with kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dishwashers Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal service Ability to work safely with PPE (personal protective equipment) and adhere to workplace safety standards Basic math skills for portioning and inventory control Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and serving residents Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures CPR certification is a plus for ensuring resident safety during meal times Join us in making a meaningful difference through nourishing care!
