Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where your enthusiasm and culinary skills will directly enhance the well-being and comfort of our residents. In this vital role, you will prepare nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, assist with food service operations, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents in our nursing home. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet dietary specifications and promote residents' health and enjoyment Assist with food production, including cooking, portioning, and plating dishes efficiently and accurately Ensure all food handling, sanitation, and safety standards are strictly followed to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment Support food service operations by bussing tables, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas Assist with meal delivery or serving to residents, ensuring prompt and courteous service Follow proper food safety protocols during storage, preparation, and disposal of food items Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and reporting shortages or issues Requirements Previous experience in nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices essential for meal production in healthcare settings Familiarity with dietary department procedures and food safety regulations to ensure compliance at all times Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure Excellent customer service skills to interact courteously with residents and staff alike Basic understanding of sanitation standards, cleaning procedures, and kitchen safety protocols Previous dietary aide or cooking experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates Join us in creating nourishing meals that bring comfort and joy to our residents!
