Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs. Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive lifestyle changes. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting care plans as necessary based on diagnostic evaluations and nutritional analysis. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate nutrition support strategies such as tube feeding and specialized diet modifications. Requirements Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with relevant licensing or certification. Proven experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, or acute care environments with geriatrics or specialized dietary needs. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and nutrition support techniques such as tube feeding. Skilled in health coaching, client communication, and motivational interviewing to promote behavioral change.
