Director of Nutrition and Senior Centers Summary:

Responsible for menu development, preparation for nutrition education activities, and developing in-service training.

Essential Functions:

Works with caterers to develop and certify menus to meet the funder's guidelines and clients' needs; works with program staff on menu substitutions for special events, certifies menu substitutions, and keeps documents on file. Plans and coordinates all nutrition education activities, including teaching material development and compilation of resources on file. Develops in-service training schedule and resources for staff and volunteers. Coordinates and provides in-service training for staff and volunteers. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess a current Registered Dietitian license with at least one year of work experience with older adults. Must be familiar with Asian dietary culture. Must have knowledge about quality Asian ethnic food planning and quality control. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Cantonese. Proficient in MS Office, Chinese Word Processing, and the Internet.
