Job Description

Job Overview The Registered Dietitian Manager oversees the clinical nutrition and dietary services department within the hospital, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based nutritional care for patients while managing staff, operations, and regulatory compliance. This role combines clinical dietitian expertise with departmental leadership responsibilities, including supervision of dietitians, diet technicians, and support staff. Duties Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care Oversee nutritional assessments, care plans, and interventions for patients across various units, including complex and critical care cases Team Leadership & Management Supervise, schedule, and evaluate performance of registered dietitians, diet technicians, and dietary staff Recruit, onboard, and train new team members Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing professional development opportunities Address performance issues and support staff growth through coaching and evaluations Department Operations Manage day-to-day operations of the clinical nutrition department, including workflow, coverage, and staffing levels Develop and monitor department budget, including labor and supply costs Collaborate with food service/culinary teams to ensure menus meet therapeutic diet requirements Implement and update departmental policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory changes Ensure dietitians provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols Review and approve high-risk or complex patient nutrition plans Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, state health department, and other regulatory nutrition care standards Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Current, unrestricted state license as a Dietitian (if required by state) Minimum 3-5 years of clinical dietitian experience in an acute care/hospital setting Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience Preferred Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Healthcare Administration, or related field Board certification in a specialty area (e.g., CNSC, CSO, CSR) Experience with hospital regulatory surveys (Joint Commission, CMS, state) Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Join us in delivering exceptional nutritional care that transforms lives! Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
