Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Dietitian, where you will play a vital role in promoting optimal nutrition and health outcomes for our geriatric patient population. Whether working full-time or part-time, you will leverage your expertise to develop personalized care plans, provide nutrition counseling, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify specific dietary needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate medical nutrition therapy (MNT), weight management, and chronic disease management strategies. Provide expert nutrition counseling using motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and improve health outcomes. Manage clinical nutrition support including tube feeding, dietary modifications, and specialized nutritional interventions. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment plans. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems. Supervise dietetic interns or junior staff members while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Requirements Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from an accredited program with current licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience working in clinical nutrition settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and dietary management for various conditions including geriatrics, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and tube feeding. Demonstrated skills in health coaching, client communication, and motivational interviewing to support behavior change. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management. Supervisory experience preferred, especially in dietary departments or clinical settings involving staff or student supervision. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes, nutritional analysis tools, and care plan development for diverse populations. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with acute care experience or long-term care expertise highly valued.
