Job Description

Position Summary Seeking a Registered Dietitian with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience, holding active NC licensure and credentials through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered Dietitian is responsible for delivering individualized and group-based nutrition education, conducting nutrition screenings, and providing routine counseling. Responsibilities include reviewing vital signs, anthropometric measurements, and dietary assessments to evaluate food preferences, nutrient intake, and behavioral influences on eating habits. The Dietitian will work with a diverse client base, including individuals managing conditions such as diabetes, undergoing bariatric procedures, or seeking support in areas such as weight management, sports nutrition, cardiac health, and pediatrics. This role supports patients across the continuum of care and functions as an integral part of an inter-professional healthcare team. Major Responsibilities Conduct nutrition assessments and screenings upon admission and collect relevant data that may impact the patient's health status or nutritional risk. Implement and monitor nutrition interventions, making evidence-based adjustments to improve patient outcomes. Deliver individualized nutrition counseling and group education to patients and their families. Conduct or attend inter-professional patient rounds to evaluate and enhance nutrition care plans. Provide culinary skills training and practical nutrition education to support healthy behavior change. Assist with referrals to appropriate nutrition-related educational resources and community programs. Document and communicate data relevant to each patient's dietary needs in accordance with organizational and professional standards. Attend weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to promote collaboration and continuity of care.
Job RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science or a related field.
Licensure & Certification:
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) designation required within six (6) months of hire, as outlined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. All licensure must be maintained in good standing throughout employment. Required Skills & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and the ability to apply it in clinical settings. Ability to multi-task and manage a self-directed workload in a dynamic environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capacity to deliver health information using culturally appropriate language and techniques. Skilled in collaboration and adaptability within an interdisciplinary team. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Active listening and effective interpersonal communication. Awareness of one's own performance and ability to assess and support the performance of others. Committed to continuous learning and application of newly acquired information.
