Salary:
$100,000 annually Position Overview The Dietitian serves as the senior leader of the Facilities Food & Nutrition Services department, overseeing all clinical nutrition, food service operations, regulatory compliance, and staff management. This role ensures high‑quality nutrition services for residents, participants, staff, and guests of Maluhia and the Maluhia Adult Day Health Center (MADHC). Located on Oahu, Maluhia is one of 12 facilities within the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. Key Responsibilities Administrative Leadership Department Oversight
  • Direct daily operations of Food & Nutrition Services. Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Medicare, Medicaid, USDA, and State standards. Strategic Planning
  • Develop long‑ and short‑term departmental objectives aligned with facility goals. Staff Management
  • Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline staff; maintain job descriptions; oversee PAS evaluations. Budget & Resource Management
  • Project annual budget needs for food, equipment, and personnel. Policy Development
  • Create, revise, and implement departmental policies and procedures. Interdepartmental Collaboration
  • Participate in committees and maintain strong communication across units. Quality Assurance
  • Lead QA activities and ensure high standards in food production, safety, sanitation, and customer service. Purchasing Procurement Management
  • Prepare equipment and supply specifications; monitor inventory; compare vendor pricing and quality. Resident Care Services Menu Planning
  • Develop weekly menus within budget and aligned with current nutrition principles. Clinical Collaboration
  • Work with physicians, nurses, and social workers to address unique nutritional needs. Clinical QA
  • Implement and monitor nutrition‑related quality assurance activities.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in dietetics/nutrition and completion of an ADA‑approved internship. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) Certification required Minimum 2 years professional dietetic experience and 1 year managing institutional food service operations. Current CPR/BLS Certification through the American Heart Association Current two-step TB/Chest X-Ray clearance
