TITLE:
Nutrition Area Supervisor I - Hourly/Nonexempt, Chariton, IAREPORTS TO
Nutrition Program ManagerPURPOSE OF POSITION
Overall responsibility for the operation of multiple designated nutrition center(s): May include oversight of at least two cooking kitchens (or at least three nutrition centers or serving areas) and supervision of at least three staff (may include a volunteer nutrition center manager) and at least production of 100 meals per day from all cooking centers; or may include supervision of multiple counties, non-cooking nutrition centers of 10 or more.RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
1. Ensure that policies and procedures for Nutrition program are followed within each assigned nutrition center. 2. Responsible for all aspects of managing, coordination, and supervision of assigned nutrition centers, serving areas and cooking kitchen(s) as applicable; scheduling and filling-in as needed. 3. Complete recommendations for hire, status change, personnel reviews, and termination of all staff under their supervision, and submit all supporting documentation. 4. Oversee effective recruitment, training, and managing of volunteers. 5. Monitor kitchen and/or other staff labor hours, offering input to improve efficiency. 6. Prepare (and/or assist) in-services and training; hold regular meetings for supervised staff. 7. See that all paperwork is accurate and timely, including Time Trak information. 8. Assist in semi-annual evaluations on nutrition centers. 9. Become knowledgeable of Milestones programs to provide basic information and assistance, as well as referrals. 10. Promote nutrition centers; encourage outreach and plan approved activities of interest to seniors. This includes sharing current MAAA program information and assuring that Nutrition Education and Health Promotion activities are made available monthly. 11. Schedule transportation services within county, if applicable. 12. Participate in at least one MAAA promotional event annually. 13. May be required to attend meetings of local entities, representing Milestones as an ex-officio member. May present approved reports.REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES FOR POSITION
1. AA in job related field and 1 year supervisor experience. 2. Experience in food purchasing, preparation and planning for large quantities preferred. 3. Knowledge of and experience working with the needs of elderly preferred. 4. Customer service, hospitality, and/or public speaking experience preferred. 5. Ability to maintain confidentiality. 6. Experience working with volunteers, including recruitment. 7. Current Serve Safe Certification or within 6 months of hire at least once upon employment. Certification must be maintained if work site does not have a head cook on site. 8. Must be a self-starter and able to work without close supervision. 9. Strong supervisory skills and detail focused organizational habits required. 10. Must be a good communicator and work well with all AAA staff and other non-agency service providers in the network. 11. Must have word processing and spreadsheet experience, preferably Microsoft Office. 12. Must be able to lift Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on your own or 50 lbs. with assistance. 13. Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance, access to reliable transportation, and ability to travel as job requires.SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm (30 hours/week)SALARY:
