The Role and Why It's Important The Human Resources & Office Coordinator is the welcoming first point of contact for the HR department, supporting employees, applicants, and visitors while keeping day-to-day HR administration running smoothly. This role blends front desk responsibilities, such as managing calls and facility access, with administrative tasks like maintaining employee records and supporting HR communications and events. What You'll Do Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, applicants, visitors, and vendors, providing professional and timely assistance. Manage incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct individuals to the appropriate department or personnel. Manage facility access by checking employees, visitors, vendors, and other individuals in and out of the facility and maintaining accurate records. Support daily HR operations by assisting with employee questions, requests, and general HR-related processes. Coordinate and maintain accurate employee records, files, forms, and other HR documentation. Assist with employee communications, HR initiatives, meetings, and events as needed. Collaborate with the HR team to ensure consistent communication and processes. Maintain confidentiality with all employee and company information and follow established HR policies and procedures. Proficiency using computers, telephones, and other office equipment, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with general human resources practices, procedures, and terminology. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, applicants, visitors, vendors, and management. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping, data entry, and administrative tasks. Demonstrated ability to provide professional, courteous customer service and use sound judgment when directing inquiries. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling employee and company information. Reporting Relationships Accountable and Reports to:

None Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in an office or administrative environment (preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Ability to operate standard office technology, including computers and telephones. Ability to review and analyze documents and data on screen. Ability to occasionally transport materials weighing up to 10 pounds (such as files or office supplies). Working Environment This role works primarily in an office setting at Hy-Vee's Human Resources department, with frequent in-person contact with employees, applicants, visitors, and vendors.
