Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary department in our nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals tailored to their individual health needs. This role requires a strong focus on patient assessment, dietary management, and effective supervision of staff to maintain high standards of food service and safety. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine individual dietary needs and preferences. Develop and implement care plans that align with residents' nutritional requirements and health goals. Supervise dietary staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation within the dietary department. Manage budgeting for the dietary department, ensuring cost-effective meal planning and resource allocation. Perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition and health coaching for residents. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to adjust meal plans based on ongoing assessments and resident feedback. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. Train new staff on dietary protocols, safety procedures, and best practices in food preparation. Experience Proven experience in dietary management within a healthcare setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, meal planning, and dietary regulations. Experience in supervising staff and managing a team effectively. Familiarity with budgeting processes related to food service operations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with residents, families, and healthcare teams effectively. A background in health coaching or patient education is a plus.
