Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Dietary Manager to oversee the nutritional services within healthcare or long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, dietetics, and patient-centered care, with a focus on managing dietary operations efficiently and ensuring optimal nutritional support for diverse populations. As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will lead dietary staff, develop care plans, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to promote health and well-being through tailored nutrition strategies. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for patients with specific dietary needs, including tube feeding and chronic disease management. Conduct patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify areas for intervention. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) into overall treatment plans. Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) to document assessments, care plans, and progress notes accurately. Provide nutrition counseling and health coaching to patients to support weight management, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications. Oversee nutritional analysis and diagnostic evaluation processes to ensure appropriate nutritional support is provided. Supervise staff training in clinical nutrition practices, EMR/EHR management, and specialized dietary procedures such as tube feeding. Ensure the dietary department adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of quality care in acute care, long-term care, or hospital environments. Qualifications Certification as a Dietary Manager from an accredited organization is required. Proven experience in supervising dietary services within healthcare or long-term care settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs such as geriatrics, weight loss programs, or patients requiring specialized nutrition support like tube feeding. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management. Excellent client communication skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive health outcomes. Demonstrated ability to develop care plans based on nutritional assessment data and diagnostic evaluation results. Knowledge of dietetics principles related to chronic disease management, geriatrics, and acute care environments. Supervising experience in dietary departments or hospital settings is highly desirable.
