Job Description:
The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for the dietary needs of the patients in the hospital and the overall dietary program. This position requires a strong understanding of food allergies and food restrictions to provide a safe and nutritious diet for all patients. The Certified Dietary Manager will also assist in developing and implementing a food service program that meets the nutritional needs of our patients.Essential Functions:
- Provide nutritional support to our patients.
- Develop and implement a food service program that meets the nutritional needs of our patients.
- Monitor patient compliance with their nutritional restrictions.
- Respond to patient requests for food services.
- Respond to questions regarding food service programs.
- Maintain accurate records of patient nutritional needs, restrictions, and compliance.
- Maintain good communication with other healthcare professionals as well as the nursing staff regarding patient nutritional needs and restrictions.
- Work with the dietitian to monitor patient nutritional levels and restrictions.
- Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience:
- 2 years' experience in a long-term care setting providing dietary services or dietary management preferred.
- Certified Dietician, Certified Dietary Manager, or Registered Dietitian preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition and food safety principles, policies, procedures, standards, etc., and able to provide information to patients and their families on food choices, benefits, and restrictions is preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records preferred.
