Position Summary Information Primary Purpose The mission of the Appalachian State Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations, as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. Appalachian State University competes as an NCAADivision I team in the Sun Belt, Southern, and MAC Conferences. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition.
Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible. License/Certification Required Preferred Qualifications Experience working football performance nutrition Essential Duties and Responsibilities Director of Athletics Performance Nutrition
The ideal candidate for the Director of Performance Nutrition position demonstrates a willingness to engage and provide nutritional education through a spirit of collaboration, through service, and effective communication with members of the High Performance Team of Athletic Training, strength and conditioning, and sport psychology, in an effort to provide a holistic student athlete experience toward lifelong development and growth.
