Join Our Healthcare Team Fallon Tribal Health Center (FTHC) is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our healthcare team in Fallon, Nevada. This position offers an opportunity to combine clinical nutrition, diabetes prevention and management, community nutrition, elder nutrition, and wellness programming while serving American Indian/Alaska Native patients and community members. The Registered Dietitian provides nutrition assessments, medical nutrition therapy, individualized counseling, nutrition care and meal planning, chronic disease education, and community-based nutrition services. The position works closely with FTHC Medical Services, Community Health, the Senior Center, Wellness Center, and Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI).

Compensation & FTHC Provider Incentives Starting Pay:

Eligibility is determined by the applicable program. What You'll Do As our Registered Dietitian, you'll have the opportunity to work both individually with patients and throughout the community. Responsibilities include providing nutrition assessment, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy for patients with diabetes, pre-diabetes, obesity, hypertension, heart disease, and other nutrition-related conditions. You'll develop individualized nutrition and meal plans; work as part of FTHC's diabetes care team; support SDPI programming; and collaborate with medical providers, nursing, pharmacy, behavioral health, CHR, the Senior Center, Wellness Center, and other FTHC programs. The position also goes beyond the traditional clinical setting. You'll have opportunities to: Provide nutrition education for individuals, families, elders, youth, and community groups. Conduct healthy cooking demonstrations, nutrition classes, grocery-store education, and wellness activities . Support Senior Center menu planning and elder nutrition activities. Participate in health fairs, community events, and employee wellness activities. Help patients overcome food-access barriers by connecting them with FTHC and community resources.

Qualifications Candidates must have:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in dietetics, nutrition, food and nutrition, public health nutrition, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Current Nevada Dietitian licensure or the ability to obtain Nevada licensure before providing independent dietetic services. Experience in diabetes education, medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, elder nutrition, Tribal health, rural health, or public health nutrition is preferred.
