Overview Come work for the world's leading private employer of Registered Dietitians! Sodexo is seeking a per diem Registered Dietitian for Renown Regional Medical Center located in Reno, Nevada. Rate of pay starting at $38 per hour and based on experience. Ability to work some weekends preferred.
The successful candidate will:
provide nutritional care for a variety of inpatient units. educate patients regarding their acute and/or chronic diseases. perform quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction rounds and monthly test trays. assist with Food Service Management as needed. Registered Dietitian credentials and be licensed in Nevada. strong verbal and written communication skills. good time management skills be a self-starter and a team player. the ability to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff. Learn more about Renown Regional Medical Center at https://www.renown.org/ Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, dietary needs, and medical history. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans aligned with patients' medical conditions and dietary requirements. Provide expert nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to foster positive behavioral changes. Manage clinical nutrition interventions such as tube feeding, parenteral nutrition, and other specialized nutrition support therapies. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes. Document all assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Assist in supervising dietetic interns or junior staff when applicable, ensuring quality standards are maintained across the dietary department. Experience Proven experience working as a Registered Dietitian in acute care settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities. Demonstrated expertise in clinical nutrition including medical nutrition therapy (MNT), weight management, and chronic disease management. Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and nutritional needs across diverse patient populations. Experience with dietary modifications for individuals with specific health conditions or dietary restrictions. Skilled in conducting patient assessments, nutritional analysis, and diagnostic evaluations to inform care strategies. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and care coordination. Prior supervisory experience or leadership roles within dietary or healthcare teams is preferred. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to motivate and support patients through behavior change techniques like motivational interviewing.
