  • Career Ladder progression A Brief Overview The Clinical Dietitian will display effective nutrition care, apply critical thinking skills and provide effective communication and education skills in daily practice.
What You Will Do Delivering Effective Nutrition Care Critical Thinking & Decision Making Communication & Education Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Master's Degree in Food & Nutrition (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition if established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023 (Required) Work Experience 3+ years Working as a clinical dietitian in a health care facility (may include Supervised Practice Program) (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Completion of an ACEND accredited Supervised Practice Program. (Required proficiency) Competent skills to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) & apply the nutrition care process to patient care. (Required proficiency) Competent skills to evaluate and recommend nutrition needs based on the specific combined objective/subjective information for a clinical nutrition assessment. (Required proficiency) Analytical skills to assess patient's condition & provide appropriate interventions. (Required proficiency) Exhibits appropriate & effective communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, physicians and other health care professionals. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Ohio (Required Upon Hire) Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Required Upon Hire) Maintains the required continuing education credits for Registration and License.
