Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic PRN (as-needed) Dietitian to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nutritional care and support to diverse patient populations, including those in K-12, acute care, long-term care, and specialized settings. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and develop tailored care plans. Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients with various dietary needs, including weight management, chronic disease management, and geriatrics. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to integrate nutrition support into overall treatment plans. Manage medical nutrition therapy (MNT), including tube feeding protocols and specialized dietary interventions. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate patients toward healthier lifestyle choices and improved adherence to nutrition recommendations. Supervise or mentor dietetic interns or junior staff when applicable, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Requirements Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or equivalent certification required. Proven experience in clinical nutrition, including acute care, long-term care, or hospital settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition support techniques such as tube feeding, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs or medical conditions such as diabetes, renal disease, or geriatrics. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate diverse populations. Supervisory experience is a plus; previous experience supervising dietetic staff or students is preferred.
