A nutrition professional assigned to function as a WIC Certifying Authority (CA) and supervise WIC clinic operations and employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as a WIC Site Supervisor. Oversee the daily operation of the WIC site. Plan, coordinate and direct job activities of the WIC clinic employees (clerical staff, WCS and peer counselors). Supervise WIC clinic employees, including interviewing, orientation, training, performance appraisals, and other general supervisory functions. Function as a WIC Certifying Authority (CA). Determine client eligibility by assessment of client medical history, dietary recall and risk conditions. Provide individual nutrition counseling to WIC clients. Provide appropriate referrals. Responsible for issuance of non-contract infant formula according to State Agency guidelines, including accountability for drop shipped formula inventory. Responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential WIC charts. Responsible for performing WIC self-audits and QA assignments. Teach group nutrition education classes as assigned. Maintain local and State Agency WIC equipment inventory. Order and maintain WIC equipment, office and medical supplies, with the approval of the WIC Director. Promote healthy lifestyles through nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion. Provide monthly staff training. Perform clerical and automated tasks necessary for WIC certification and benefit issuance. Coordinate with other FBFHC staff to provide a cohesive program of service for agency clients. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition or its equivalent. (Education must meet state mandates for position.)
PREFERRED
Prior experience working with non-profit organizations preferred. One year work experience with supervisory responsibilities preferred. Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing, with good organizational skills. Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels. Ability to travel between WIC office locations. High ethical standards. Team player. Ability to handle multiple projects. Ability to operate computer, copier, and fax. Consumer advocate for quality health care and services Ability to organize work, develops procedures, and follows instructions. Ability to coordinate heavy correspondence including confidential documents. Ability to maintain confidence regarding information processed. Communication skills with ability to talk with and write to a wide variety of individuals to secure hard to get, but necessary information. High ethical standards. Well-organized and self-directed. Good keyboarding skills and legible handwriting. Team player. Ability to relate to people at all levels in the organization. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to handle multiple projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to operate computer, copier and fax. Consumer advocate for quality health care and services. Ability to direct and supervise effectively and delegate duties appropriately.
