Director of Nursing (RN) - Riverwalk Senior Living - Tuscaloosa, AL Job Overview Riverwalk Senior Living is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our clinical and resident care services in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of our Assisted Living and Memory Care programs, leading the nursing and care team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of resident care. We are looking for a hands-on, organized leader who communicates well with residents, families, and staff and is passionate about providing exceptional care to seniors. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursing and resident care operations for Assisted Living and Memory Care Lead, supervise, and support nurses, medication technicians, caregivers, and other clinical staff Ensure resident care and clinical practices comply with Alabama regulations and company standards Conduct resident assessments and oversee individualized care/service plans Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacies, hospice and home health providers, families, and other healthcare partners Oversee medication management and clinical documentation Assist with clinical staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, and performance management Maintain required staff credentials, certifications, and training compliance Participate in surveys, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action plans Communicate with residents and families regarding care needs, changes, and concerns Partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to support overall community operations Promote a positive, professional, and resident-centered culture Qualifications Current RN license in the State of Alabama required Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience preferred Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Senior Living, or Long-Term Care strongly preferred Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and clinical documentation Proven ability to lead, develop, and support a clinical team Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, staff, and healthcare providers CPR certification preferred What We Offer Competitive compensation Benefits package available Supportive leadership team Professional growth opportunities Opportunity to lead and develop a strong clinical team Meaningful work serving seniors and their families
