Direct Hire A respected nonprofit behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to provide leadership and oversight for nursing services throughout Maricopa County. This position will lead nursing teams, strengthen clinical operations, and ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. The ideal candidate is a hands-on nursing leader with experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, crisis services, detoxification, substance-use treatment, or a related setting. Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for nursing services and clinical operations Lead, mentor, and develop Nurse Managers, supervisors, and frontline nursing staff Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, performance management, and nursing competencies Promote a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered workplace culture Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, organizational, and regulatory standards Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities to improve quality and patient safety Collaborate with medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and operational leaders Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices Support incident reviews, corrective action plans, and quality-improvement initiatives Participate in strategic planning and help advance the organization's community-focused mission Qualifications Active and unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse license Bachelor's degree in Nursing required Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred Progressive nursing leadership experience at the Nurse Manager, Director, or equivalent level Behavioral health, psychiatric, crisis stabilization, detoxification, substance-use treatment, or similar experience strongly preferred Knowledge of clinical compliance, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and competing operational priorities Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Compassionate, visible, and hands-on leadership style Commitment to serving individuals with complex behavioral health and community-based needs Benefits Competitive compensation Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Retirement plan Paid time off Leadership growth and professional-development opportunities Mission-driven work that directly impacts individuals and communities throughout Arizona This is an excellent opportunity for a nursing leader who wants to influence clinical strategy, strengthen nursing operations, and support teams providing essential behavioral health services. Pay Details:
