Job Overview The Director of Nursing provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for all nursing and clinical operations across the organization while assisting the Vice President of Nursing. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. This position partners closely with executive leadership and medical staff to align with clinical strategy with organizational goals, optimize care delivery models, and support sustainable growth. management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Clinical Leadership o Provide strategic leadership and direction for nursing and clinical operations o Establish and maintain clinical standards, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory and accreditation requirements o Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and patient-centered care
- Operational Oversight o Lead, mentor and inspire a team of nurses and clinical staff to deliver exceptional care o Meet with RN Leads on a regular basis o Identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency, access, and quality of care
- Quality, Safety & Compliance o Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements o Lead quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives o Monitor and anticipate clinical quality outcomes, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Nursing & Clinical Workforce Management o Provide leadership for recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of nursing and clinical staff in accordance with the VP of Nursing o Support leadership development and succession planning within nursing and clinical teams
- Performance Management & Data Analytics o Proven ability to balance operational efficiency with compassion, patient-centered care o Utilize data-driven insights to guide decision-making and performance improvement o Prepare and present clinical and operational reports to executive leadership and governing bodies
- Strategic Growth & Service Line Support o Support the development and expansion of clinical programs and service lines o Partner with physician leaders and service line directors to implement new clinical initiatives, technologies, and care models o Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and capital planning processes
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of progressive nursing and clinical leadership experience
- 3+ Years working in a PACU, OR, and as a Circulator
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site clinical operations and large multidisciplinary teams
- Comprehension of ASC Compliance and Joint Commission
KNOWLEDGE
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice standards and clinical operations
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality metrics
- Familiarity with EMR systems, clinical workflows, and healthcare performance analytics SKILLS
- Strategic planning and executive leadership skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead organizational change and performance improvement initiatives

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment with frequent presence in clinical settings.
- Regular travel to clinics, surgical centers, and healthcare facilities may be required.
- Exposure to healthcare environments with potential exposure to infectious diseases and other hazards; compliance with safety protocols and use of PPE required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Good visual acuity and accurate color vision.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, and movement between clinical and administrative areas.
- Ability to manage high-level decision-making responsibilities and complex problem-solving demands.
