Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care across our long-term care, assisted living, and home health settings. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and resident rights. Duties Provide visionary leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations including long-term care regulations and Medicare requirements. Develop, implement, and regularly review comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs, incorporating best practices in memory care, hospice care, and acute care. Supervise nursing staff management—including hiring, training, scheduling shifts, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering professional development—while ensuring optimal staffing levels for quality patient care. Oversee clinical documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards and EMR/EHR systems for medical records management. Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of long-term care laws, Medicare guidelines, and other relevant regulations; prepare for audits and inspections proactively. Promote resident's rights by advocating for dignity, autonomy, and personalized care; address concerns promptly and effectively. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services across home health agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare partners to deliver seamless continuity of care. Monitor quality assurance metrics related to patient care outcomes, infection control practices, medication management, and safety protocols. Lead efforts in staff education on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, HIPAA compliance, documentation standards, and emergency procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in nursing leadership roles within long-term care facilities or similar healthcare environments; prior experience in assisted living or home health is highly desirable. Strong background in nursing administration with demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams in settings such as assisted living communities or skilled nursing facilities. Extensive knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare policies, HIPAA compliance standards, and documentation review processes. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management; familiarity with managing care plans through digital platforms. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy relevant to aging populations and memory care residents. Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality of care. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments while advocating for residents' rights. Management experience that includes supervising staff schedules, conducting performance reviews, and fostering team development through coaching and mentorship. Relevant licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with active licensure in good standing; additional certifications in hospice or home health are advantageous.
