Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care. The DON will oversee clinical operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a compassionate environment that prioritizes residents' rights and well-being. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive nursing administration experience, capable of managing diverse care teams and ensuring adherence to long-term care regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices across various settings, including assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care environments. Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and supervision of nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care and staff performance. Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual resident needs, emphasizing resident rights and quality outcomes. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities, including Medicare and HIPAA requirements. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and accurate coding using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Manage staffing schedules, shift assignments, and resource allocation to optimize patient care delivery. Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory adherence. Lead efforts in staff training on topics such as medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, memory care, and regulatory updates. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services across home health agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare entities. Monitor quality metrics related to patient care outcomes, Medicare billing processes, and compliance with long-term care regulations. Promote a culture of continuous improvement focused on safety, efficiency, and resident satisfaction. Skills BSN preferred; advanced degree a plus. Current California RN license in a good standing Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility(SNF) Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a SNF required. Strong leadership, team-building, and staff development skills. Excellent clinical assessment, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with survey readiness, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance Ability to effectively manage nursing operations, staffing, budgets, and patient care services.
