Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing to lead, mentor, and inspire our nursing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on nursing leader with a proven track record in regulatory survey success, staff development, and clinical excellence. The Director of Nursing will oversee nursing operations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for nursing services Lead and maintain survey readiness (State, CMS) Successfully manage and participate in regulatory surveys, audits, and follow-up plans Coach, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and staff at all levels Promote a positive, high-performance culture focused on quality outcomes Oversee clinical compliance, policies, and procedures Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care Monitor quality metrics and implement performance improvement initiatives Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff Qualifications Active RN license (California) Minimum 2 years of experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing (or equivalent senior nursing leadership role) Strong experience with state and federal surveys Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing nursing staff Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to lead with confidence while remaining approachable and supportive Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, behavioral health, senior living, or similar setting preferred Join us as we elevate nursing excellence through innovative leadership!
