Job Description

In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing services to all Residents in the facility. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON): Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department. Develop, plan, conduct and schedule in-service training classes that provide and ensure a well-educated nursing service department. Provide leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for Nurse Supervisors, RNs, and LPNs. Assist the Director in developing and revising the nursing assistant training curriculum and conducting universal precautions in-service training. Extensive knowledge regarding Infection Control practices. Review and advise of policies and procedures regarding infection prevention. Conduct and offer in-services to all staff regarding Infection Control practices. Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) :
Requirements:
Must possess, a valid unencumbered RN state license and a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
