Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration, with a focus on long term care and nursing home environments. 4 years minimum experience. Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations is expected. This leadership role requires the ability to manage staff effectively, ensure compliance with medical records and documentation standards. Ability to foster resident, family, physician and staff relationships is a must. Duties Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care. Manage shift schedules and staffing levels to meet patient needs effectively to facility and industry standards. Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards related to nursing practices. Review and maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Conduct regular assessments of nursing practices and implement improvements as necessary. Stay updated on advancements in nursing practices, physiology knowledge, and healthcare systems. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Proven experience in nursing administration or management within a long term care or skilled nursing setting. Strong understanding of medical records management and documentation review processes, developing an effective system of accurate oversight. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Knowledge of physiology and its application in patient care is essential. Knowledge of referral review and accurate MDS coding. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with staff, patients, and families. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care. Infection Prevention Certificate or willingness to obtain is preferred.
