Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the leadership and operational management of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing management, education administration, and team leadership, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative work environment. As ADON, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, overseeing nursing staff, and contributing to strategic planning initiatives that enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure high-quality patient care. Support strategic planning efforts aimed at improving clinical outcomes and operational efficiency within the nursing department. Participate in budgeting processes, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation to maintain financial sustainability. Lead and manage nursing teams by providing mentorship, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Oversee personnel management activities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and safety protocols across all nursing operations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote effective communication, instructional leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and excellence in patient care delivery.
EDUCATION
Must be a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program. Must maintain a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferredEXPERIENCE
Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility Prefer a minimum (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices Proven experience in nursing management within a healthcare setting, preferably with prior roles involving educational or administrative responsibilities. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management within a clinical or hospital environment. Strong background in personnel management, team development, and leadership within healthcare or educational institutions. Experience working in university-affiliated healthcare programs or settings that involve instructional leadership in education is highly desirable. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation processes, and quality assurance standards. Prior experience supporting or managing school administrative functions or educational programs is an advantage. A valid nursing license along with relevant certifications demonstrating leadership capabilities are required.
