Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team and oversee all clinical operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, with a strong background in assisted living, nursing home care, home health, and hospice services. As the Director of Nursing Services, you will ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a compassionate and efficient work environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of nursing practice and resident satisfaction. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, including assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care units. Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to each resident's needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA. Supervise nurse management staff and direct nursing personnel to ensure quality care delivery while fostering professional development. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure accurate data entry within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Monitor staffing levels and shift management to guarantee adequate coverage and optimal resident care at all times. Ensure adherence to medical terminology standards, physiology and anatomy knowledge, and proper documentation practices in accordance with healthcare regulations. Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy rules and accreditation standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that address residents' physical, emotional, and medical needs. Lead efforts in staff training on medical terminology, nursing procedures, Medicare regulations, and documentation protocols. Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement in nursing services. Requirements Proven experience in nursing management within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar healthcare environments. Extensive knowledge of home health services, hospice care protocols, acute care procedures, and Medicare regulations. Demonstrated supervising experience with strong nurse management skills and leadership capabilities. Proficiency with EMR systems and EHR systems for accurate medical records management. Solid understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements related to patient privacy and data security. Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high-quality resident care standards. Strong organizational skills coupled with excellent communication abilities to liaise effectively across departments. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher; licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required; additional certifications in nursing administration are preferred.
