Job Description
Interim Director of Nursing-Interim Leadership Role | 60-90 Days Swiss Village is seeking an experienced and compassionate Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strong clinical leadership and operational oversight during a leadership transition. This is a 60-90 day interim assignment focused on stabilizing nursing operations, supporting staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a smooth transition to a permanent Director of Nursing. Position Responsibilities The Interim Director of Nursing will: Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department and clinical staff. Oversee daily nursing operations, staffing, scheduling, and clinical priorities. Promote safe, high-quality, person-centered care for residents/patients. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies. Monitor clinical quality, documentation, medication management, infection prevention, and resident/patient safety. Prepare the nursing department for regulatory surveys and assist with survey follow-up. Collaborate with physicians, residents/patients and families, interdisciplinary team members, and organizational leadership. Evaluate current nursing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in nursing management and leadership
- Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, standards, and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- A genuine passion for caring for older adults
- A commitment to quality care, teamwork, and servant leadership
