Job Overview Lane House is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) (RN) to lead our nursing team within a long-term care environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, with a strong background in assisted living, nursing home, and home health settings. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to regulatory compliance, resident care, and team management, ensuring the delivery of exceptional healthcare services while maintaining operational excellence. The DON will serve as a vital link between clinical staff, residents, families, and regulatory agencies, fostering a culture of compassionate care and continuous improvement. Duties Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including long-term care standards and Medicare requirements. Lead and supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, promoting professional development and maintaining high-performance standards. Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to residents' individual needs, incorporating best practices in memory care, hospice care, and acute care. Ensure proper documentation review and maintenance of medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to guarantee accuracy and regulatory compliance. Monitor resident's rights adherence, ensuring dignity, privacy, and personalized care are prioritized at all times. Manage staffing schedules across shifts to optimize patient care delivery while controlling labor costs. Conduct regular audits of medical records, documentation review, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard resident information. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans that address physiology and anatomy knowledge for comprehensive resident support. Stay current with long-term care regulations, Medicare policies, and industry best practices to ensure facility accreditation and quality standards are met or exceeded. Experience Proven leadership experience in nursing management within assisted living facilities or nursing homes is essential. Demonstrated expertise in managing care teams in home health agencies or hospice environments is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare policies, and compliance standards is required. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation management is necessary; familiarity with medical terminology is essential. Supervising experience in nursing administration with a focus on patient care quality improvement initiatives. Strong background in managing memory care units or specialized long-term care units is preferred. Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations alongside skills in managing medical records and documentation review processes. Ability to lead through change management initiatives while fostering a positive team environment that emphasizes leadership development and staff engagement.
