Job Overview Life Care Center of Andover is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) (RN) to lead our nursing team within a long-term care environment. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all clinical operations, ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, and foster a compassionate, patient-centered culture. Duties Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing services across the facility, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including long-term care standards and Medicare requirements. Supervise and manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a high-performing team. Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to residents' needs, ensuring alignment with best practices in memory care, hospice, home health, and acute care settings. Oversee documentation review processes to maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize resident outcomes and enhance quality of life through personalized care strategies. Monitor regulatory compliance related to long-term care facilities, Medicare billing practices, and state licensing requirements. Lead efforts in staff education on medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and documentation standards to uphold clinical excellence. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems effectively for patient documentation and reporting. Requirements Valid RN license with current licensure in good standing; prior experience as a Nurse Manager or in nursing leadership preferred. Extensive background in long-term care facilities including assisted living, memory care, home health agencies, or hospice care. Proven management and supervising experience within nursing administration roles managing multidisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare policies, HIPAA compliance, and documentation review procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management; proficiency in medical terminology is essential. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff while fostering a positive work environment focused on resident safety and satisfaction. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with residents' families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Knowledge of nursing best practices related to patient care, physiology, anatomy, memory care strategies, and shift management.
