Director of Nursing Duties and Responsibilities:
The coordination of resident care with a "hands on" management style Strong organizational skills Develops, reviews, and revises nursing and clinical policies Able to work days but also willing to be flexible during a staff shortage or emergency situation Conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents Ability to multi-task Knowledge of Long Term Care Regulations Ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions Promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded Responsible for cost controls by monitoring the use of supplies and equipment
