Assistant Director of Nursing RN Optalis of Wyoming Optalis Health and Rehabilitation - 2.5 Wyoming, MI Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Medical emergency response Analytics Full Job Description Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Control Nurse (RN) Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Control Nurse is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in the clinical and operational management of nursing services while overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program. This position promotes quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff education, and infection prevention practices in accordance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, state, and facility requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the management and supervision of nursing staff. Ensure delivery of high-quality resident care and compliance with clinical standards. Monitor staffing levels and participate in scheduling as needed. Conduct rounds to assess resident care and nursing practices. Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities. Assist with employee coaching, counseling, orientation, and annual evaluations. Support regulatory surveys and implement corrective action plans. Participate in on-call rotation as assigned. Infection Control Responsibilities Serve as the facility Infection Preventionist. Develop, implement, and monitor the Infection Prevention and Control Program. Conduct surveillance and tracking of healthcare-associated infections. Analyze infection data, identify trends, and recommend interventions. Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, state, and local infection control regulations. Educate staff on infection prevention practices, PPE usage, hand hygiene, and isolation precautions. Investigate outbreaks and coordinate response activities. Collaborate with medical providers, pharmacy, laboratory, and public health agencies. Maintain required infection control records and reports. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan. Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience preferred. Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations. Infection Prevention certification (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, and assist residents as necessary. Ability to respond to clinical emergencies. Ability to work extended hours or weekends when needed. Working Conditions Long-term care/skilled nursing facility environment. Exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hazardous materials. Requires adherence to facility infection prevention and safety protocols.
