Post-Acute / Long-Term Care (LTC) Job summary We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing operations at a long-term care facility. The DON will provide clinical leadership, oversee nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain high standards of resident care. This is a hands-on leadership role, and the candidate must be willing to assist with floor coverage as needed. Key responsibilities Direct and supervise all nursing services and clinical operations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff and department managers. Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce coverage. Monitor quality improvement initiatives and resident care outcomes. Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning and resident services. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regulatory readiness. Utilize PointClickCare (PCC) for documentation and clinical management. Provide direct patient care and work on the floor when necessary to cover staffing needs. Requirements Active RN license (required). Minimum 2 years of Director of Nursing or nursing leadership experience , preferably in long-term care or post-acute settings. Current BLS certification . Strong knowledge of LTC regulations, survey processes, staffing management, and quality assurance. Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred. BSN is not required . Ideal candidate The ideal candidate is a confident clinical leader with strong long-term care management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stabilize operations while supporting frontline nursing staff.
