Job Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees the nursing services for Sunflower State Vital Care and its affiliates in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois and Iowa. This role serves as the primary healthcare administrator for the company; a nursing degree is preferred but not required. The DON is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with all federal, state, and professional standards, and effective leadership of all nursing staff within the organization. This is an administrative, office-based role that combines clinical expertise in infusion therapy with strategic responsibilities, serving as a clinical bridge between patients, providers and pharmacies. This candidate can reside in the KC or STL area.

Responsibilities Department and Staff Management:

Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, including staffing, hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Staff include W-2 nurses and 1099 nurses across multiple locations and states.

Clinical Oversight:

Ensure delivery of high-quality and safe patient care by providing clinical guidance, developing care plans, and monitoring patient outcomes. The DON ensures that appropriate nursing equipment and supplies are in stock and available to nurses that are providing care in our suites or in the home; and ensuring that nurses are trained and educated on their use.

Quality and Compliance :

Maintain compliance with all current federal, state, and local regulations and professional standards (e.g., INS, ONS). Prepare and review adequate documentation and practice policies in accordance with local regulations, home health requirements and corporate guidelines.

Strategic Planning:

Participate in developing agency goals, evaluating performance, and aligning infusion services with overall objectives.

Interdisciplinary Coordination :

Act as a clinical bridge, coordinating with other care team members, pharmacists, and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.

Experience Education:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or a related field. Licensure (Preferred, Not Required): Active Registered Nurse (RN)/multistate license.

Management/Leadership Experience:

At least 5 years of management experience; including but not limited to hiring and managing employees, scheduling, hiring and onboarding, training and compliance and clinical knowledge. Strong leadership and administrative skills, and the ability to collaborate with pharmacy staff and nursing agencies.

Industry Experience:

Experience in home health, home infusion, or a related field. Proven knowledge of infusion therapy and chronic disease management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for communicating and working with clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and families.

Pay:

$110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
