Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Nursing Services (Health Coordinator) include the planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department at Mississippi Methodist Senior Services in accordance with current existing federal, state and local standards, as well as in accordance with the established policies and procedures at Mississippi Methodist Senior Services, to maximize fulfilling the care-giving needs of residents who reside at Mississippi Methodist Senior Services. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities. Education Requirements LPN/RN from an accredited college or university. Preferred Qualifications Advanced education in nursing management and administration. At least 5 years experience supervising others in a hospital, long term care facility or other health care institution, with at least 2 years experience implementing total patient care and care planning and in making sound nursing judgments. In addition, the Director of Nursing Services (Health Coordinator) will have at least 6 months experience in geriatric and/or psychiatric nursing, with 6 months experience managing a nursing department or assisting with the managing of a nursing department. Minimum Qualifications At least 21 years of age, 2 years experience as a general staff nurse in a hospital, long term care facility or other health care institution within the past 5 years. The Director of Nursing (Health Coordinator) will have at least one year experience in implementing total patient care and care planning and in making sound nursing judgments within the past 5 years.
