Job Description

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance. Key duties include staff scheduling, clinical leadership/staff management, staff education, patient care coordination, administrative support and infection prevention. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Always maintain resident and facility confidentiality.
  • Treat residents, visitors and coworkers with respect, dignity and kindness.
  • Provide quality care for our residents to the utmost of our abilities and within the scope of our capacities.
  • Complete the general facility orientation program within 14 days of employment including health screen, physical and immunizations.
  • Complete the departmental orientation program and skills checklist within 90 days of employment.
  • Participate in mandatory staff in-services and quality improvement studies.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job. Employees are expected to report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Comply with all facility safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Perform specific job duties in the most economical manner possible.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility. Employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to our company's operational policies and procedures.
  • Be supportive of the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required or requested by supervisor or administrator. Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
Oversee daily clinical operations, conduct rounds to monitor patient care, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    Staff Management:
    Hire, train, schedule, and discipline nursing staff (LPNs, CNAs, RNs) to ensure adequate, high-quality care.
      Staff Development:
      Annually and as needed assess employee competencies and educational needs. Coordinates annual clinical skills testing of CNAs, licensed nurses and other departments.
        Patient Care Coordination:
        Assist in developing and evaluating patient care plans, and address concerns from patients and their families.
          Administrative Support:
          Assist with policy implementation, budget management, and documentation of all necessary nursing records.
            Infection Control:
            Responsible for leading infection prevention program.
            • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
            • Serves as a resource to staff in clinical decision making.
            • Assists and participates in activities related to Facility inspections or investigations by regulatory or accrediting agencies.
            • Supports and promotes practices consistent with the mission, philosophy, standards, policies and procedures of the nursing department and the facility.
            • Assures staff comply with Facility policies and procedures via completing Facility rounds to monitor and observe staff
            • Identifies problems, reports and makes recommendations for addressing these problems to the Director of Nursing or appropriate supervisor.

            $36.94 per hour
