Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Colonial Acres Nursing Home & Assisted Living - Humboldt, Nebraska Colonial Acres Nursing Home & Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and nursing staff to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care in a homelike environment. Position Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall management and coordination of nursing services. Serve as a nursing leader and resource for CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and other members of the care team. Help ensure adequate staffing and assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and finding replacements when necessary. Participate in the hiring, interviewing, orientation, training, and evaluation of nursing staff. Monitor staff attendance, performance, compliance, and adherence to facility policies and procedures. Assist with maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive work environment. Participate in physician/medical provider rounds , including preparing information, communicating resident concerns, and following up on new orders. Coordinate resident appointments and transportation , ensuring appointments are scheduled, communicated, documented, and followed up appropriately. Oversee and coordinate the facility's restorative nursing program , including monitoring resident participation, documentation, and progress. Assist with resident assessments, care planning, documentation, and changes in condition. Monitor completion and accuracy of nursing documentation and required clinical records. Assist with medication management, physician orders, treatments, and other clinical responsibilities as appropriate. Monitor residents for changes in condition and ensure appropriate interventions and provider notifications occur. Assist with incident/accident investigations, follow-up, and documentation. Assist with infection prevention and control practices and ensure staff follow established protocols. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities. Assist with preparation for state surveys, audits, inspections, and other regulatory requirements. Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies. Provide education, coaching, and support to nursing staff. Promote resident rights, dignity, independence, and person-centered care. Communicate effectively with residents, families, providers, pharmacy, therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Assist with addressing resident and family concerns in a professional and timely manner. Serve as a dependable leadership presence throughout the facility and assist with nursing operations when the DON is unavailable. Participate in on-call or after-hours leadership responsibilities as assigned. Cover floor shifts when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. What We're Looking For Current RN license in the State of Nebraska. Long-term-care/SNF experience preferred. Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other departments. Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail. Dependable, professional, and compassionate. Comfortable providing direction, coaching, and accountability to staff.
