Join Our Nursing Leadership Team! Las Cruces Village Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - RN or LPN to join our leadership team. We are looking for a strong, hands-on nurse leader with skilled nursing or long-term care experience who is passionate about resident care, developing nursing staff, and maintaining high clinical standards. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to support the daily operations of the nursing department, strengthen clinical systems, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure our residents receive high-quality, compassionate care. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily management of nursing services Provide leadership, guidance, and support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nursing supervisors Conduct clinical rounds and monitor the quality of resident care Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate assessment, documentation, provider notification, and follow-up Participate in daily clinical meetings and interdisciplinary care planning Review nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance Monitor physician orders, medications, treatments, labs, and clinical follow-up Assist with the management of falls, wounds, infections, hospital transfers, and other high-risk clinical areas Participate in incident investigations and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented Assist with staff education, competencies, coaching, and performance management Support staffing and scheduling needs within the nursing department Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives Assist with survey preparation, Plans of Correction, and ongoing survey readiness Help identify potential clinical or regulatory concerns and ensure timely corrective action Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team Serve as a visible nursing leadership presence throughout the facility Provide leadership coverage and clinical support as needed Qualifications Current RN or LPN license in good standing Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred Previous experience as an ADON, Nurse Manager, Unit Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or similar leadership position preferred Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills Knowledge of CMS requirements and the long-term care survey process preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to coach and develop nursing staff while maintaining accountability Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through in a fast-paced environment Dependable, professional, and committed to providing excellent resident care Who We're Looking For We're looking for a visible, hands-on clinical leader who understands the unique demands of skilled nursing and long-term care.
